According to a study by the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development 38% of daily traffic takes place in the immediate vicinity (on foot, by bike or by car within a radius of 2 to 3 km). Such as visits to the doctor or running errands to the bank, the grocery store, the pharmacy, the post office, etc.
In most cases the car is used for such errands, especially for shopping. At present there are few alternatives to the car for people who want to transport something or those who are limited in their mobility. (Even the most popular electric bicycles do not provide comparably large capabilities to transport something, apart from large cargo bikes, which may however not be balanced and driven with ease by everybody, because of their length, their wider turning circle and their weight.)
However, all these activities can be done easily with the Minniemobil. It is in so far an ideal, „decelerated“ alternative to the classic car, and is therefore ideal for the functional, safe, affordable, cleaner, comfortable and yet rapid locomotion.
Moreover, the use of this vehicle promises a significant reduction in traffic. In addition all road users, not just seniors, would finally be equipped with an alternative to the car for their important short-haul transactions.
Minniemobil provides a conceptual advancement of previous „Senior vehicles“. It offers a variety of possibilities for its´ use for both private as well as for business purposes. This was first achieved by creating plenty of storage space.

According to road traffic regulations the vehicles are registered as „wheelchairs“, although the vehicle driver does not have to be either disabled or ill. In the medium term a more clearly defined certification as an electric mobility aid such as the Segway is planned. This class of vehicles is approved for pedestrian walkways and pedestrian areas (walking speed of 3 km / h), as well as for combined pedestrian and bicycle paths and also for roads (Depending on the country in question speeds of up to 15 km / h are allowed).
A driving license is not required. Operation is intuitively understandable and extremely easy compared to normal cars. Prerequisite for use is a liability insurance (insurance plate). The Minniemobil travels at a speed of 3 to 15 km / h.
The Minniemobil primarily constitutes an assistance for mobility and shopping purposes, thus supporting the user in both leisure time as well as in everyday transactions. This applies for its´ use in spa towns and health resorts, in holiday/vacation spots, as well as in classical metropolitan areas.
The product meets the lifestyle expectations of a modern society and represents a new mobility solution for everyday use. In addition, the product is a safe means of transportation explicitly for the growing layer of seniors.
The acceptance of the Minniemobil is much higher due to its sporty, simple, elegant and above all functional design. Not only classic „wheelchairs“ but common mobility-scooters as well all have a negative „disabled image“, whereby a prevalent application didn´t come to fruition so far. Furthermore no e-mobile competitors provide even remotely viable charging options.

In order to achieve the climate- and energy policy objectives of the EU, we absolutely need to increase the use of electric vehicles in road traffic.
